A couple of weeks ago, we were sitting down to our hamburger dinner when I happened to look out the window.
“Oh my gosh!!! Tobi, look!!!” I screamed.
I must have startled him, because he was like, “What’s wrong!?”
“Look! There is a rainbow outside!”
We peered out the window at the rainbow – and it was quite an impressive sight.
The sky was bright orange, and there was a rainbow because it had just stopped raining. This was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. Except maybe for a few sunsets on the beach in South Africa a few years ago, but sunsets on the beach automatically trump any sunsets you see in a city… But that said, this is hands-down the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in the past year.
Leaving our hamburgers on the table, we grabbed our cameras and ran out into the street to take pictures. Of course my pictures don’t even capture the whole feeling of how majestic this scene was. It is hard to see, but if you look closely at the rainbow, there are two of them. Two full ROY G. BIV spectrums, right next to each other. It’s very faint, though, and more visible on the right side than the left. Though I must admit it’s not as intense of a double rainbow as in that video – you all know the one I’m talking about!
Our hamburgers were cold when we went back into the apartment, but that’s okay. It was SO worth it. And that’s what microwaves are for, anyway.
