Welcome! I’m Sarah and I’d like to thank you for stopping by my blog! For those of you who are new, here’s a little bit about me.

I’m an American girl from Upper Marlboro, MD. I currently live in Hamburg, Germany and work here as an English teacher. I got married to Tobias, my wonderful husband, on August 4, 2012. (More on that here!)

We love to travel, exploring both far away places and our own little city. We love taking pictures. Tobias is a great cook, while I prefer baking. (But he’s better at both!) Tobias is my biggest fan and I am so glad he has always been so supportive of this blog.

I am passionate about languages, linguistics and discovering different cultures. And I love writing in this little blog of mine. What started as a way to keep family and friends updated on my life while doing a one-year teaching exchange in Paris quickly became one of my favorite hobbies. I still do it mostly for my own record-keeping, as I have a pretty terrible memory. There are just so many beautiful things in life to document, whether it be special occasions, craft projects, recipes, funny stories or decorating…this blog is all that and much more. It’s a collection of stories and photos from our everyday lives and the things that inspire me.

We’re happy (albeit tired) parents of two wonderful boys, Theo (pronounced TAY-oh, the German way!) and Avi. Life has certainly gotten more challenging with two kids, but also all the richer.

Thanks for coming along for the ride!
